WE BELIEVE
Statement of Faith

The Bible

The Holy Bible is the authoritative Word of God. It declares and reveals who God is and His plan for man. It alone is the final authority in determining our manner of life, our doctrine, what truth is, and our conduct. It is inspired, infallible, and inerrant. The Bible is the foundation of our faith and all we believe.
(2 Tim 3:16; 1 Pt 1:23-25; 2 Pt 1:20-21; Ps 119:89; Prov 30:5; Rom 16:25-26; 1 Thess 2:13; Heb 4:12)

God

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal.
(Gen 1:26; Deut 6:4; Mk 12:29; Isa 40:10-31, 43:10-11, 1 Jn 5:7; Mt 3:16-17; 28:19; Lk 1:35)

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory.
(Mt 1:18, 25; Lk 1:27-38; Isa 7:14; Jn 1:1,14; 3:16; 20:28; 1 Tim 2:5; 3:16; Isa 9:6; Phil 2:5-6).

Man

Man was created in the likeness and image of God. He was good and upright.  Every person is God’s masterpiece, uniquely created with a purpose that can only be fully realized through a relationship with Jesus.
(Gen 1:26-31, 2:17, 3:1-7; Ps 8:4-8; 51:5; 1 Cor 15:21-22; 2 Cor 5:17).

Sin

Although originally good, man willingly fell to sin ushering evil and death into the world, both physically and spiritually.
(
Gen 3; Rom 3:10-18; 23; 5:12-21; 6:23)

Salvation

It is the will of God that all men be saved from sin. Salvation is a free gift offered by God to all who believe in Jesus Christ His Son. We are saved by grace through faith alone. Salvation is in no way the result of our own works, merit, or effort.
(Eph 1:5-7; 2:4-9; Gal 2:16; Titus 3:5-7; Rom 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Heb 9:12, 22).

Repentance

Repentance is a requirement for salvation. It is to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Christ. This allows us to receive His redemption and to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Thus, through repentance we receive forgiveness of sins and appropriate salvation Repentance is not the work of man, it is the response of man to the influence of God’s saving grace drawing us back into relationship with Him.
(Mk 1:15; Lk 13:3; Acts 2:38-39, 3:19; 1 Jn 1:9).

Sanctification

Sanctification is the ongoing process of yielding to the direction of the Holy Spirit and obedience to God’s Word in order to complete the development of Christ’s character in us. It is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God that the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life
(Jn 17:17,19; 1 Thess 4:3, 5:23; 2 Cor 3:18, 6:14-18, Rom 8:29, 12:1-2, Phil 2:12; Heb 2:11; 2 Cor. 7:1).

Spirit Filled Living

The Holy Spirit lives inside every born-again follower of Jesus Christ. The believers body becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit. He is a present reality each day, here to help believers in their walk with Christ.  He leads believers into the perfect plan and purpose of God. He helps us prepare for the future by revealing what lies ahead. He makes it possible to live a life that glorifies God.
(Jn 14:16-18, 26; Jn 16:7-15; Rom 8:11; 1 Cor 3:16-17; 6:19-20).

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is to empower the Church to preach the Gospel throughout the whole earth. For that reason, we are completely dependent on Him to fulfill the Great Commission. From the day of Pentecost to this day, Jesus has been pouring the gift of His Spirit out upon all disciples who sincerely seek Him. We receive this Baptism by faith after being born again.
(Jn 7:37-39; Acts 1:5,8; 2:1-4, 17-21, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6).

Gifts of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of Biblical parameters
(Heb 2:4; 1 Cor 12:1-31, 14:1-40; Rom 1:11; 12:4-8; 1 Tim 4:14; 2 Tim 1:6-7; 1 Pt 4:10).

The Church

The Church is the Body of Christ, the family of God, the habitation of God through the Spirit. It is the Church’s duty to fulfill the Great Commission by carrying on the mission, message, and ministry Jesus began here on earth. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an important part of the Church and has a unique role to play in building the Kingdom of God. Spiritual unity and harmony must be maintained.
(Eph 1:22-23, 2:19-22; 4:11-16; Heb 12:23; Jn 17:11, 20-23; Mk 16:15-20).

Sacraments of the Church:

Water Baptism
After believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and repenting of sin, the new convert is commanded by Christ to be baptized in water in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
(Mt 3:16-17; 28:19; Acts 2:38; Mk 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48; Rom 6:3-4).

The Lord’s Supper
Jesus commanded His followers to continue what He began at the Last Supper as a way to honor and remember His sacrifice for us. The bread represents Jesus’ body that was broken for us. The grape juice represents the sinless blood He shed for us.
(Mt 26:26-29; 1 Cor 10:16-17, 11:23-26).

Marriage

We recognize that human sexuality is a gift from God, designed by the Creator to be shared within the context of a marriage. We affirm that God has ordained marriage and defined it as the covenant relationship between one man and one woman. Therefore, the heterosexual union for married persons and committed celibate behavior for unmarried persons are the only Biblical options for human sexual conduct. We believe God wonderfully creates each person as male or female. These two distinct yet complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. The marriage bond is to be an example of the relationship between Christ and the Church.
(Gen 1:27, 2:24; Mk 10:6-9; Mt 19:4-6)

Sexuality

God’s intention for human sexuality is to occur between one biological male and one biological female within the covenant of marriage. All forms of sexuality outside of God’s intention are a result of separation from God and are illegitimate moral options for the confessing Christian. In Scripture, several sexual behaviors are expressly forbidden, which include but are not limited to fornication, adultery, incest, unnatural sexual intercourse and homosexual acts.
(Gen 2:18, 21-24; Heb 13:4; 1 Cor 6:9-13, 18–20; Ex 20:14; Mt 5:27–28; Rom 1:18–32; 1 Cor 6:9; Gal 5:19-21; Col 3:5-6; I Thess 4:1-8; Rev 21:8)

Healing

Healing was a central part of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Jesus carried our sin and our sickness to the cross where He defeated them. He personally commissioned His disciples to heal the sick. Healing is a sign, a miraculous work, that Jesus said would follow believers. Supernatural healing from God comes to and through the believer in a variety of ways including, the prayer of Faith, the laying on of hands, the Gifts of the Spirit.
(Psalm 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:5; Mt 8:16-17; Mk 16:17-18; Acts 8:6-7; Jms 5:14-16; I Cor 12:9, 28).

Resurrection

Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. In addition, both the saved and the lost will be resurrected; they that are saved to the resurrection of life and they that are lost to the resurrection of eternal damnation.
(Mt 24:31-46; Lk 24:36-39; Jn 2:19-21, 5:25-30; 11:25; 20:26-28, 21:4; Acts 24:15; I Cor 15; Phil 3:20-21; Rev 20:5-6; 11-15).

Heaven

Heaven is the eternal dwelling place for all who believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
(Mt 5:12; Jn 6:20, 14:1-6, 17:24; 2 Cor 5:1; Heb 11:16; 1 Pt 1:4).

Hell

The one who physically dies in his sins without accepting Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire and, therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. After living one life on earth, the unbeliever will be judged by God and sent to Hell where they will be eternally tormented with the Devil and the Fallen Angels.
(Mt 25:41; Mk 9:43-48; 2 Thess 1:9; Heb 9:27; Rev 14:9-11, 20:12-15, 21:8).

Second Coming

Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures. Although the time is unknown, all believers should daily view this event as imminent. We are called to live ready and help as many others as we can to do the same.
(Mt 24:30, 26:64; Lk 12:40; Acts 1:9-11; I Thess 4:15-17; 2 Thess 1:7-10; 2 Pet 3:4-13; Rev 1:7)
